Is Ram really matter?

Isn't there a limit to doing nonsense? I was stunned to read the few statement of our political leaders at different times as;-Yoga is nothing but communal exercises.
Gita and Mahabhart are useless stories,Hinduism is the worst religion as compared to Christianity, Ram Mandir didn’t exist there in Ayodhya but Babri Masjid existed.Ayurveda is a false and dangerous to patients and now they say that Rama is false Tulsi Das and Valmiki is False,Ramayna is False. Ramsetu is False.
I am not here to present the fact behind these arguments because there are so many things and incidents in the world which are cann’t be explained by our wisdom and logic but we still believe in those things without any hesitation and any proofs. Sethusamudram is more than 150 years old wonderful idea to create alternative shorter route for ships to cross the Gulf of Mannar. In 1955, the Government of India set up the Sethusamudram project committee to look into the feasibility of the project and five routes were discussed till 2001 but nothing happened. Purpose of project is to cut down the travel distance and time for ships originating from the west of India and destined for east coastal areas of country. The project is fine, but the present route is not, as it involves destruction of a bridge believed to have been built by Lord Rama and Muslims and Christians believe it to be Adam's creation. It is ironical that a government which changes the metro rail route to protect the Qutub Minar, built with the material of destroyed temples, stops a corridor to protect the Taj Mahal's surroundings and spends crores of rupees to showcase ancient potteries and jewellery in heavily guarded museums, is destroying a unique symbol of national identity and an icon well preserved in our minds since ages.

I am not arguing that whether monument is nature made or man made but preserve the ancient monuments whether they are man made or nature's gift should be our moral duty. If Rama setu is a nature's gift, then does it mean that it can be destroyed? Even if it’s natural why destroy a natural wonder? We have already devastated count less number of natural resources and we got the boons in form of global warming, acid rains, droughts, earthquakes, tsunamis etc. If you are not interested in Bharata's Dharma, faith, principles at least do care about natural resources as the nature is beyond any religion. Destroying the setu to save on Fuel and time is just a silly excuse - why don't they save on the fuel they spend on elections, on wars....they shamelessly say that we should not let our past come in the way of our development but may I ask that at what percent of Indian ships pass through subject route when there is road route available which is cheaper? Further what are the business volume India gains by transshipment between the coasts? Why can't this place be made as tourist destination and the revenue earned serve as compensation for those extra 30 hours fuel cost? This is not a religious issue - its a natural heritage! Indians are famous for not writing and preserving their own history. Most of the accounts of ancient India come from foreign travellers and invaders. Our government now claims that there is no proof of Ram. Historians used to laugh at Illiad's epic of Troy till they found the city exactly where the poem told them. Why the present route was Okayed which essentially requires the destruction of the Ram Setu, while other options, closer to Dhanushkodi, which did not touch the Ram Setu were ignored?

Apart from such issues of heritage and belief, there are genuine concerns regarding security and the tsunamis' impact increasing in case the Setu is destroyed. If the new channel is created through the present Rama's bridge, international ships would pass through it making a de facto international boundary between India and Sri Lanka, facilitating an increased alien presence, burdening our navy to a great extent. United States has been pressurizing to have it declared as international waters and said in a naval notification in 2005 that it does not accept the sea between India and Sri Lanka as 'historic'. Professor Tad Murthy, the world renowned tsunami expert, has also warned that the present Setu Samudram route may result in tsunami waves hitting Kerala more fiercely. The Sethusamudram Corporation Limited ( SCCP)may result in erosion of thorium-rich sand deposit along the south indian coast. Our political leadership is selling out critical national interests; they are literally letting people steal thorium rich sands for a cheaply transporting convenience. It’s a sea-based channel and hence comparing it to Panama or Suez Canal which are land-based, is absolutely incorrect. Such a project has never ever been executed anywhere else in the world, still there are no proper impact studies done for this. So there are so many possible environmental risks also like severe tsunami impacts, risk of high temperature zones getting exposed, and risk to biodiversity of the region. The economic viability of the project is also under scanner. Since, it’s not a land-based channel so the passage will need frequent clearing of sand. So It effectively ruling out the passage of big cargo/container ships on regular basis. The ships will have to sail slow and may save few hrs of travel time. Therefore, these overheads will offset the fuel savings. The cottage industries of coastal region are likely to be adversely impacted as fishermen have to run into severe restrictions if the SSCP channel paves way for international passage.
